One person was killed and 14 others were injured today when a bomb carried by two ULFA militants on a motorcycle exploded in the Kumarpara area here minutes before Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived in the city to lay the foundation for a bridge over the Brahmaputra river.
The bomb carried by the two suspected militants exploded near a mosque in Kumarpara at about 5.45 pm, Additional Superintendent of Police Rajen Singh told PTI.
He, however, said it was yet to be ascertained whether the person killed was one of the two militants.
The person died while being rushed to a hospital.
