2nd PM of Babysana held, teachers join protest

As assured by the Chief Minister to the JAC during a late evening meeting on July 24, the second post mortem examination of Ningthoujam Babysana was conducted at JNIMS morgue today, said a source.
Apart from the second post mortem, the Home Department of the State Government has already recommended that the service of the CBI be roped in to investigate the death of the girl child who was found hung to death on July 18 at her hostel room.
On the other hand, Teachers and staff of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School, Canchipur staged a protest demonstration at the gate of their school today demanding establishment of the facts and circumstances leading to the death of Ninthoujam Babysana.

Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the protest demonstration, senior teacher RK Opendro said that the sit-in-protest was a part of the people's agitation aimed at delivering justice to the controversial death of Babysana.
He said that the death of Babysana is a very sorrowful and shocking incident which is unprecedented in the school's history.
He also expressed keen desire to expedite police investigation into the case.
Whether it is State police or CBI, teachers and staff of the school would extend full support to all investigating agencies towards establishing facts and circumstances leading to the death of Babysana.
Notably, 14 year old Ningthoujam Babysana of Thangmeiband Maisnam Leikai was found dead inside the school's hostel in the morning of July 18 under suspicious circumstances.
She was reading in class VII.
Meanwhile the North East Forum for International Solidarity (NEFIS) has strongly condemned the way the State police have been dealing with the case of Babysana.
The police have so far been unable to trace the culprits thereby adding fuel to public wrath, it said and demanded immediate arrest and punishment of the culprits so as to ensure that justice is done to the victim.
