Imphal, July 26 2019:
International Peace & Social Advancement (IPSA) has expressed strong concern regarding the attempt of some miscreants to register some associations in the name of Transporters and Drivers Council (TDC) Manipur.
Speaking to media persons at IPSA office at Keishamthong today, its secretary (organisation) Waikhom Ravi said that TDC was established in 2010 and the apex body has been working tirelessly for the people of the State by trying to improve the conditions of the roads and the traffic along the National Highways, mainly NH-37 (Imphal-Jiribam).
However, it is very disappointing and shocking to find a shady organisation trying to get itself registered in the name of TDC, he said.
Clarifying that the said people/organisation can try to work for the welfare of the people if it genuinely wants to do so, but it cannot interfere or hinder the TDC and it cannot register under similar names, he warned.
Proposing that the best solution would be to work together for the common good, Ravi said that it would be step in the right direction to stop all the blame game and instead bring an amicable solution.
He then invited both TDC and the organisation in question, to come to IPSA office to work out a peaceful solution.
