Keisham Geenita, student of College of Fisheries, Lembucherra, Tripura under Central Agricultural University, Imphal, has bagged top position in the recently declared AIEEA-PG-2019 examination conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi for admission to various universities for postgraduate programme in various fisheries disciplines.
Apart from being a consistent performer in academics during her BFSc programme and topping all the semester with an overall grade of 9.02/10 scale, K Geenita is also a recipient of the meritorious Ishan Uday fellowship awarded by University Grants Commission for pursuing higher education at the college, said a statement issued by College of Fisheries, Lembucherra, Tripura (W).
Maintaining that the college has also bagged 2nd, 3rd , 4th and 5th ranks in ST category, it added that as many as 3 to 4 students are likely to get Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) from Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi, and in total eight students may secure admission to ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai, Maharashtra for MFSc programme.
The college has been a consistent performer with regard to the said examination and continues to affirm its legacy of being the one of the best fisheries colleges in the country, it added.
Keisham Geenita is the daughter of K Indrajit Singh and K Lokabati Devi of Wangkhei Wangkheimayum Leirak, Imphal West.
