U-17 Girls State Subroto Mukerjee Football : Rampaging Imphal East set up final date with Imphal West

Poiroukhongjil High Schoolwhich are representing Imphal East district ran riot to decimate Emmanuel School, Chandel 12-1 in an explosive semi-final match of the State Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournament for U-17 Girls today to set up final clash with Nilamani English School, Imphal West which saw off The Madhumati Govt High School, Bishnupur district by 4-1 goals in another one sided semi-final match staged earlier.
Lynda Kom took the centrestage for Nilamani English School in the first semi-final match as she led the attack on multiple occasions and struck thrice to ensure the huge win.
Both, Imphal West and Bishnupur took of the game cautiously with a series of drives and interceptions and were at the same pace until Lynda Kom rose and banged in the opener in the 34th minute.
Lynda remained cool and composed and went on to grabbed another in the 36th minute to pile up more pressure on the Bishnupur side.
Bishnupur side's woes continued as Baby Lachhandam added another to Imphal West's tally in the 43rd minute and the fate of the game was sealed when Lynda Kom completed her treble in the 47th minute making the scoreline read 4-0 .
The Madhumati Govt High School girls which were forced to remain mostly in their half managed a consolation goal in the 50th minute and before holding their ground to deny further goals by their rivals in the remainder of the game.
Meanwhile in the second semi-final match, Poiroukhongjil High School came out all guns blazing to tear apart Emmanuel School Chandel and book the final berth in style.
L Kipgel and K Kimnunsang Vaiphei shared 4 goals each in their 12-1 win while their team mate Promila scored three goals after Sanjana scored the second goal of the game in the 3rd minute of the match.
Poiroukhongjil High School started the game on a bang with L Kipgel opening the floodgate in the opening minute itself and connected to three more goals in the 5th, 21st and the 25th minute of the match.
Promila also started contributing early from the 8th minute of the match before striking 2 more goals (27', 48') while K Kimnunsang Vaiphei who had her opening goal in the 40th minute, carried on the onslaught for a better portion of the game to pump in three more goals in the 46th, 49th and the 53rd minute.
Emmanuel School, Chandel on the other hand grabbed a consolation goal in the 37th minute through Naobi.
The final match will start tomorrow at 8 am .
