A bilingual book, recording in black and white the agitation against the extension of the Centre-NSCN (IM) ceasefire to Manipur is to be brought under the financial sponsorship of the RIMS hospital and JN hospital voluntary relief camps.
Revealing this, Yumnam Rupachandra, convenor of the editorial board, said the book, to be entitled �A Tribute to the Martyrs and Peoples of Manipur� will cover the supreme sacrifice of the martyrs who died in the anti-ceasefire extension agitation and the entire history of the June 18 uprising, as well as every document relevant to the history of Manipur.
As initial working capital for the publication of the book, the RIMS and JN relief committees are to deposit Rs.10,000 each.
Various leading daily newspapers of Manipur have agreed to assist in the publication of the record book.
A second book based on the details and circumstances of the June 18 uprising is also planned to be published.
Meanwhile, a peaceful sit-in-protest was organized by the Naoremthong Samushang Clubs and Meira paibis Apunba Lup, along with All Kuki Mothers� association, Manipur, Joint Coordinating Committee, Langol Housing Complex and Game Village Meira Paibi, and Langol Meitei Leikai to show respect to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the ceasefire withdrawal agitation in Manipur.
An awareness programme on the ceasefire extension was also held during the demonstration and various resource persons expressed their views.
