Chandel, July 30:
The Naga Youth Front has called for a 72 hours bandh in four hill districts against the Centres decision to confine the ceasefire within the boundary of Nagaland State alone.
The bandh will come into effect from midnight today.
The bandh will be enforced in Ukhrul, Tamenglong, Chandel and Senapati.
Stating that the bandh has been imposed against the decision of the Centre to renege on the Bangkok agreement the Youth Front said the NSCN (IM) ceasefire should not be restricted only within the boundary of Nagaland.
Educational institutions, water supply, electricity, telecommunication, army, Para military forces, police and farmers will not come under the purview of the bandh, said the Front in a release.
A PTI report says that the bandh has been called by the Naga Youth Front and the United Naga Council.
Sources said the NYF and Zeliangrong Students Union were also continuing economic blockade at the twp national highway 39 and 53 for the third day today.
There was no report of protest against the Centres decision to withdraw Ceasefire from Manipur by launching sit-ins, rallies or processions in hill districts so far.
Life was reported to be normal in Chandel district and parts of Tamenglong and Senapati districts also, reports said.
No untoward incident was reported.
Meanwhile police sources said, The army, police and paramilitary forces have been put on high alert ahead of the 72 hours bandh called in four hill districts.
