Imphal, June 22:
State BJP leader Col.(retd) H Bhuban has demanded modification of the terms of extension of cease-fire between the NSCN(IM) and Government of India into Manipur.
Talking to media persons at his residence this morning, Col.H Bhuban said that the extension of the cease-fire into the Manipur territory was behind the June 18 incident.
The retried Army officer said designated camps of the NSCN(IM) will be established throughout the area where the cease-fire is in force and the demand for Greater Nagaland is inevitable.
Reiterating his view that the NSCN(IM) is an underground organisation fully equipped by the Chinese government and backed by the American Baptist Mission, he asked the government of India to take serious note of these points.
Bhuban however appealed to the people to take to democratic and peaceful agitations while protesting the cease-fire extension.
He also declared that he will not attend the all political party meeting convened by the Union Home Minister Mr LK Advani at New Delhi adding that he will not compromise with the territorial integrity of the state and will not surrender to New Delhi.
Bhuban also charged the central leaders with step motherly treatment of the people of Manipur.
He said when five people died in West Bengal, central leaders rushed to the state to bring a solution, while the central leaders are now pretending to be unaware that 14 people have so far died in the state.
He termed the central leaders attitude as defiant and step motherly treatment, Bhuban also alleged that the centre do not consider the people of Manipur as its citizens.
Meanwhile, the MPP president, O Joy demanded review of the cease fire extension move and at the same time urged all sections of the people to resort only to democratic and nonviolent protest.
