Dimapur/Senapati, October 21 2019:
The Government of India and the NSCN-IM will hold "extremely crucial talks" on October 24 in New Delhi.
The last talks were held on October 14.The NSCN-IM leaders said that the last talks were relatively "cordial" .
The October 14 talks dwelt solely on the issue of flag and Constitution of the Nagas, according to the NSCN-IM leaders.
On the other hand, Chief Minister N Biren who left for New Delhi yesterday after chairing a meeting of legislators who are in the BJP led coalition Government returned to Imphal today.
The meeting of the ruling legislators was held in the backdrop of the development in the ongoing talks between the Government of India and the NSCN (IM) .
Yesterday's meeting resolved that any solution to the Naga peace talk should not affect the integrity of Manipur in any way.
Meanwhile, given the situation of the Naga political issue, the United Naga Council (UNC) has said that the Nagas must engage in intense prayers so that God's wisdom prevails among the "talk parties".
The UNC appealed the Churches, towns and villages under its jurisdictions to have prayer programmes for the "smooth landing of the solution" .
According to the UNC, after more than 70 years of struggle the Nagas have come to the "crucial moment".
The UNC also said that unless God intervenes, the Nagas cannot see the light of the day.
"Therefore, the Nagas must continue to lend prayer support to the leaders who are engaging in the talks" .
The UNC then stated that settlement of the Naga political issue will also bring about peace in the South East Asia region.
In a similar spirit, Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) has made a clarion call to the Nagas to have fasting prayer for the Naga Nation.
"Considering the perilous situation that we are confronted with, wherein, our Nation's history, our God given identity and the fate of our people are being endangered by forces within and without, the CNC believes that, it is the bounden duty of every Churches and members of God in Nagalim to ceaselessly and fervently pray to God for his intervention, protection and deliverance," the CNC said on Monday.
"Therefore, the Council of Nagalim Churches declares 'a clarion call to fasting and prayer for the Nation' and requests all the regions, brigades, battalions and units of NSCN and all the Churches and individuals in Nagalim to seriously observe a day of fasting and prayer on October 23, 2019", the CNC appealed.
One point is to pray to God for protection of the identity, history, and political rights of the Nagas.
The second prayer point is to pray to God to let Naga people submit to the will of God so that "together we can build our Nation for Christ" .
Thirdly, CNC appealed the Nagas to pray to God for "Indian leaders" to let them respect and recognise the "God given flag and Constitution of Nagalim" .
"Let us also pray to God for our chief negotiator Th Muivah and the talk team to let God grant them good health, sound mind and wisdom", said the CNC, adding, "Let us also pray to God for the positive outcome of the formal talk to be held on October 24, 2019 between NSCN and the Government of India" .
