Awareness programme on 'Child Rights' held at Heirok

Imphal, October 21 2019:
The Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) has organized a district level awareness programme on 'Child Rights' at Heirok Higher Secondary School, Heirok part-III, Thoubal today at 1 pm which saw participation from 1000 participants.
The programme was chaired by Sumatibala Ningthoujam, Chairperson MCPCR and spoke on the various roles and responsibilities of MCPCR in protecting child rights in the State.
Attending as functional president, L Jilla Singh, Principal Heirok Higher Secondary School spoke on the importance of education while guest of honour A Anilkumar, ZEO Thoubal spoke on the roles played by teachers in shaping the career of children.
The keynote address was delivered by Sumel Yumnam, Programme officer, MCPCR and said that main objective of the commission is to sensitize stake holders and general public on child rights.
Dhanabir Laishram, Counsellor IGNOU also spoke on education and its significance including the importance of IQ, EQ and SQ in the education system.
