Imphal, November 01:
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has sought permission to conduct Narco- Analysis test and Psycho-Analysis test among other tests on the two accused, Thokchom Nando and N Rome Meitei in connection with the brutal killing of Lungnila Elizabeth.
Twelve year old Elizabeth was abducted from near Little Flower School by unidentified men on November 4 last year and her decomposed body was later found inside a gunny bag on November 12 at an isolated place at Sadokpam Leikai.
Following the public outcry against the murder of the child, daughter of the then GAD Minister Francis Ngajokpa, the State handed the case over to the CBI.
Before the Court of the Additional CJM Imphal, the CBI Inspector, SCB Kolkata camp Imphal, who is handling the case, requested that permissions be granted to shift the two accused persons, who are now in judicial custody, to the Forensic Science Lab, Gandhinagar for conducting the tests to establish the veracity of their statements, said a highly placed source.
The Inspector requested the Court the need to conduct brain finger Print test, Narco-Analysis Test, Psycho-analysis test and lie detector test on the accused persons in connection with the case.
The court will decide the plea of the CBI on Nov 4, the source added.
Both Nando and Rome while in State police custody had admitted their involvement in the abduction and subsequent murder of Elizabeth and had even implicated other accused persons involved in the crime including James Kuki.
But the duo have now refuted the statements made before the State police and local media, the source added.
The State Govt had already detained the two under the National Security Act (NSA) and are currently serving in jail.
It is reliably learnt that the State authority has informed the matter to the Gujarat Govt in connection with the proposed scientific test of the duo.
