Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn attends Manipur Sangai Festival

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Kingdom of Thailand attended the biggest annual tourism festival of the State, Manipur Sangai Festival - 2018 at Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre (BOAT) yesterday.
The Princess was accompanied by Thailand Ambassador to India Chutintorn Gongsakdi, officials of Royal Thai Embassy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand, Media Team from Thailand and also the officials of Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
The Princess and her entourage along with Chief Minister N.Biren Singh arrived at Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre (BOAT), where cultural programmes of the festival were held, at around 7:45 p.m.Cabinet Ministers, Chairmans, MLAs, Chief Secretary, DGP and top civil and police officials were also present at the occasion among others.
The Princess was accorded a warm welcome by the scores of people who had gathered at the BOAT.
The Princess witnessed the mesmerizing cultural performances both from Manipur and Thailand.
Speaking on the occasion, Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn said that it is indeed a great pleasure to visit the State and experience the Manipur Sangai Festival.
She appreciated the Government's initiative of 'Act East Policy' and mentioned that Thailand would extend co-operation in this regard.
It may be mentioned that the Princess will also visit Sendra, Keibul Lamjao and Kangla today.
