United Youths Organisation to call bandh from November 1

Concerned with the deteriorating condition of Imphal Yairipok road, starting from Irilbung bridge to Ngariyan hill and upto Yairipok, locals and the United Youths Organisation (UYO) has cautioned that vehicles movement on the road will be blocked indefinitely from November 1, if the State Government fails to initiate repairing work before the end of the month (November).
A statement of the UYO yesterday, said that the locals have been appealing the concerned authorities including the Minister of Works to repair the pathetic road citing the inconveniences it is causing to the local people and the commuters.
However, the State Government has failed to notice the plight of the people of the area who depends on the road for their livelihood and day to day businesses, said the statement of UYO secretary.
The Chief Minister had recently visited Thambalnu market via the said road and he must have experienced the bumpy ride and the inconveniences, said UYO urging the Chief Minister to take up appropriate actions to expedite the processes of repairing the road from this month.
The Works Minister had recently assured renovation of the road, but so far there is no development, said UYO.
Students, emergency services, media persons and medical services will be exempted from the purview of the proposed indefinite bandh scheduled to start from November 1 .
