JCILPS calls for ceaseless movement

Imphal, July 28 2015:
Maintaining that the State Government has not taken up any concrete steps so far to fulfil the conditions set by JCILPS for holding dialogue and to incorporate the five points suggested earlier in the new Bill, the JCILPS has called upon all the people to carry on different forms of democratic protest movements.
Whereas the drafting committee chairman announced that a draft Bill can be tabled in the next couple of days, the Special Secretary (Home) issued a notice seeking suggestions of legal and Constitutional experts on incorporating the five points suggested by the JCILPS in the new Bill.
This is a clear indication of the Government's insincerity and its delaying tactics.
"For the sake of Manipur's future, we must go on with different forms of mass protest movement", the JCILPS asserted in a statement.
It also appealed to all the protesters to relax all forms of protest agitation for essential services, medical services, religious functions and media.
Informing that a mass rally would be held at Lamka tomorrow (July 29), the joint committee appealed to all the people of Churachandpur including civil society organisations and student bodies to support and join the rally.
