The SPF Cabinet, during a meeting today, has decided to shift the unlicensed street vendors from Khwairamband Bazar to the shopping complex at Lamphel.
In connection with the Cabinet meeting held this afternoon with Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh in the chair, spokesperson of the SPF Government, N Biren said that the Cabinet decided that the process of shifting the unlicensed street vendors from Khwairamband Bazar to the shopping complex at Lamphel should be completed by May 2 .
The Cabinet has also decided that the arrangement of allowing parking of vehicles all along the road side of Paona Bazar, Thangal Bazar, BT Road and MG Avenue would be done away with and new parking lots will be earmarked at the site of the earlier market sheds at Nagamapal area and the open space in between the temporary market sheds of Khwairamband Bazar and the Family Welfare office complex.
Furthermore, the Cabinet has given has approved the appointment of N Hemchandra, son of late N Kunjabihari, former chairman of BSEM, to the post of ASI in the Police Dept.
The Cabinet has also recommended expansion of Dingku Road from Chingmeirong Khongnang Ani Karak to Lamlong Bazar.
