Rs 56.15 cr for rural road connectivity in state released

Union ministry of Rural Development has released grant in aid worth Rs 56,15,00,000 crore as part payment of first installment of Phase-VII for construction of rural roads in Manipur under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
The sum is from the special window created in NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development) under RIDF as grants in aid to the Manipur State Rural Roads Development Agency (MSRRDA).
MSRRDA is the agency executing the works taken up under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in the state, a release of Press Information of Bureau.
PMGSY is a 100 % centrally sponsored scheme to provide road connectivity in the rural areas of the country.
PMGSY envisages connectivity to all habitations with a population of 500 persons and above in the rural areas and about 250 persons and above in respect of the hilly states, tribal areas and desert areas through good and all weather roads.
The ministry also released grant in aid worth Rs.5,59,00,000as part payment of 2nd installment of Phase VI for construction of rural roads in Mizoram under PMGSY.
The sum is from the special window created in NABARD under RIDF as grants in aid to the Mizoram Rural Roads Development Agency (MRRDA).
MRRDA is the agency executing the works taken up under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in the state.
Another grant in aid worth Rs 20,21,00,000 as part payment of 2nd installment of Phase VII, for construction of rural roads in Arunachal Pradesh under PMGSY has also been released.
The sum is from the special window created in NABARD under RIDF as grants in aid to the Arunachal Pradesh Rural Road Development Agency (ARRDA).
ARRDA is the agencies executing the works taken up under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in the state.
