Imphal, June 24 2021: Imphal West police seized a huge quantity of Indian Made Foreign Liquor and local liquor from different parts of the district in the last 24 hours.

Yesterday evening, a team of Imphal West police led by SDPO-Lamphel, Thomas Thokchom seized a huge quantity of liquor from People's Store at Thangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai owned by one Salam Sancha (27) s/o Santosh Salam of Thangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai.

From the shop, the police team seized 6 bottles of 100 Pipers, 12 bottles of Sterling Reserve, 144 quarter bottles of Sterling Reserve, 168 bottles of Kingfisher beer, 456 can of Kingfisher beer, 48 bottles of OC Blue, 168 half bottles of OC Blue, 98 quarter bottles of OC Blue, 12 bottles of Old Monk, 216 quarter bottles of Old Monk, 12 bottles of Smirnoff, 72 quarter bottles of Romanov, 192 cans of Tuborg beer, 264 cans of Nutcracker beer, 28 half bottles of Royal Stag, 48 quarter bottles of Royal Stag, 432 quarter bottles of McDowell and 44 half bottles of local liquor.

The arrested person along with the seized items will be handed over to the Excise Department for further necessary legal action, said police.

Continuing the drive, a team of City Police Station conducted a liquor drive in and around Bora Galli at around 5 this morning.

During the drive, one Ningombam Madan Singh (50) s/o N Gopal Singh of Singjamei Aheibam Leikai a/p Bora Galli was arrested along with 62 liters of DIC liquor.

Later, the arrested person along with the seized items was brought to the City police station.

At about 10 am, another team of City Police Station conducted a drive at Pologround area, Imphal and seized 62 liters of DIC liquor, 74 half bottles (Mahao Andro), 2 bottles of Sterling Reserve, 2 bottles of Caravan, 15 cans of Tuborg beer, one can of Heineken beer, 7 cans of Budweiser Magnum, one can of Kingfisher beer, 7 bottles of MC Dowell Number 1, 3 bottles of OC Blue and 7 bottles of Old Monk from one Soyam Deben (56) from a rented house at Pologround Maning.

The arrested person along with the seized items was taken into the custody of City police station for further necessary action.
