Mary Kom, the boxing queen of India has been invited to present in the reception of Queen's Baton Relay scheduled to enter India at Wagah Border in Jammu and Kashmir on June 25 next.
Mary Kom received a letter from Chairman of the organising committee of Commonwealth Games 2010, Delhi, MP Suresh Kalmadi, invited her to take part in the reception ceremony.
The baton will cross the border from Pakistan to India in the presence of high level dignitaries.
The theme of the function would be promoting peace through sports, the letter mentioned.
Suresh Kalmadi, in his letter also informed that the Queen Baton Relay is an important pre-game activity which was flagged off by the Queen of England from Bungkingham Palace on October 29 last year.
After completing its journey to various common wealth countries in the last 240 days, the baton is scheduled to enter India from Pakistan at Wagah Border on June 25 exactly 100 days ahead of the commencement of Commonwealth Games, 2010 at Delhi.
