Death toll rises by 3 to take official tally fo 327
New cases dip for second day with 83

Imphal, December 15 2020:
Three COVID-19 positive persons belonging to Imphal East, Imphal West and Bishnupur expired at Raj Medicity and JNIMS Hospital during the last 24 hours, putting the official death toll at 327 .
The victims from Imphal East and Imphal West were males, aged 62 and 53 respectively while the victim from Bishnupur was a 50-year old female.
Strangely, the official death toll has not yet reflected the death of any army Colonel, a 42-year old man from Imphal West and a 76-year old woman who expired at Shija Hospital on December 10 .
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 83 people including four personnel of CAPF were tested positive for COVID-19 during the last 24 hours at JNIMS, RIMS, Imphal East, Imphal West, Mother's Care Hospital, CMC, Hillside Hospital, Escent Diagnostics, Shija Hospital, Thoubal, Churachandpur, Ukhrul, Tamenglong, Tengnoupal, Noney, Pherzawl and Babina Diagnostics.
This is the second day on the trot for Manipur to record sub-100 positive cases in 24 hours.
On December 14, the number of fresh positives cases was 54 .
The 79 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal West (36), Imphal East (26), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (1), Senapati (1), Tamenglong (2), Tengnoupal (1), Noney (1) and Churachandpur (4) .
All of them are locals who do not have any significant travel history.
On the other hand, 141 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (81), RIMS (9), JNIMS (7), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (9), Lanva (1), CCC UNACCO (7), Shija Hospital (8), RD Wing (3), Sadbhavna (2), Raj Medicity (1), Ukhrul (6), Bal Bhavan (2), Bishnupur (3) and Tamenglong (2) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 27,293 (general population 23,983 and Central security personnel 3,309) .
This figure includes 2,085 active cases (general population 1,872 and Central security personnel 213) and 24,880discharged cases (general population 21,788 and Central security personnel 3,092) .
The recovery rate as on Tuesday is 91.16 per cent.
Meanwhile, thermal screening of people done at Sekmai LPG bottling plant, ISBT and Khuman Lampak has been closed in accordance with a notification issued by the Health Directorate today.
Notably, thermal screening of passengers and transporters done at Mao Gate and Jiribam had been already stopped.
