MLA Nemcha Kipgen visits Gurukul, inspects PMGSY road in Kangpokpi

Kangpokpi AC ML A Nemcha Kipgen visited the Dharmodaya Veda Vigyan Gurukul at Santolabari under Kangpokpi AC and distributed blankets, rice, sports items and other necessities for the school children, today.
The MLA had earlier constructed a semi-pucca building of six rooms for the residential school.
She also , gave one blanket each to the school children, teachers and other staff including the school authority who runs the school only through donations without collecting any fees.
Dharmodaya Veda Vigyan Gurukul established in 1945 at Santolabari is the only Veda school in the district.
Nemcha Kipgen stated that education is the only tool to develop a society.
"We should not segregate on the basis of religion, caste and creed, rather we must coexist with respect and love," she added.
The MLA further assured to look into the needs and requirements of the school and the community as a whole.
Managing committee president, Ram Chandra Banstola stated that the school was established with the objective of spreading the importance of Vedas to the people of Manipur.
The Gurukul needs financial help from the Government for its smooth functioning.
The Gurukul also needs a pucca kitchen, pucca toi let, desks, benches, tables, white boards, almirah for office use, cooking utensils, ICT tools like laptops, computers, projectors and printers, proper fencing, books for library and a building equipped with modem facilities, he added.
Currently there are 22 students in the Gurukul.
Students from across the State studies in the residential school.
Later, the MLA accom-janied by ex-MDC of kalapahar Milan Pradhan inspected the road construction work under PMGSY between IT Road to Makuli and also met the villagers and leaders of Kharkhola, lower Kalapahar and upper Kalapahar.
MLA Nemcha Kipgen also inspected the construction site of a playground at Kharkhola and assured that the construction work for the playground will begin in January 2021 .
She further appealed to the people of the area to extend maximum cooperation for the construction work and instructed the contractors concerned to carry out the work efficiently for the welfare of the people.
Ex-MDC Milan Pradhan expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the local MLA for her tireless efforts for the development and growth of the area.
