Tangkhul CSOs urge CM to take action against erring contractor

Ukhrul, December 15 2020:
Tangkhul CSOs have appealed to Chief Minister N Biren Singh to take action against the erring contractor for his negligence in work and the failure to complete the blacktopping of the Ukhrul town road before December 15 .
The appeal to the Chief Minister came after a joint meeting with NHIDCL officers at TNL office to discuss the status of the work, today.
TNL vice-president K Tuisem stated that the negligence of the contractor will be viewed seriously.
Three ultimatums have been served to the agency to complete the blacktopping from Dungrei junction to Kharasom junction but to no avail.
NHIDCL first instructed the contractor to complete the work before November 26, then it was extended to December 6 and finally to December 15, he added.
K Tuisem mentioned that the Tangkhul CSOs had invited the contractor concerned to no avail.
He added that the indifferent attitude of the contractor will not be tolerated any more.
Ronik, Manager NHIDCL, Ukhrul also expressed his dissatisfaction against the contractor for the delay in completing the work.
He stated that the progress and quality of the work is rather deplorable and added that it was the reason for the many complaints against the contractor.
The roller machine has to be replaced immediately as it is one of the main reasons for the poor work quality, he added.
Ronik also mentioned that he will personally visit the Bitumen mixing plant and ascertain the exact situation.
