Imphal, December 15 2020:
All Manipur District Council Teachers' Association has appealed the Government to pass their three demands at the upcoming Cabinet meeting including adoption and implementation of ROP-2019/7th Pay Commission to employees of ADC, giving equal salary to primary teachers of Education (S) and primary teachers of ADC and implementation of the new pension schemes to the employees of ADC, at a press conference held today at Manipur Press Club.
L Ashihrii Pfozhe, finance secretary of All Manipur District Council Teachers' Association, said that the association had submitted their charter of demand to the Chief Minister and Tribal Affairs Minister earlier, but no action has been taken.
He added that the employees of the State had started enjoying the benefits of 7th Pay Commission from October 2019, but the employees from the 6 ADCs have not been brought under the roof of 7th Pay Commission by the Government.
He added that primary teachers of Education (S) were given more salary than the primary teachers of ADC since the ROP-2010 6th Pay Commission.
However, both the section of teachers were recruited under the same recruitment process and given the same assignment.
That one enjoys larger pay than the other is discrimination, he added.
The association expressed dissatisfaction with the partial and ill treatment towards the ADC and said the ADC Act of 1972, rule 53 also states that employees from ADC are to be given equal benefits as any other employees of the State Government with the same rank.
L Ashihrii Pfozhe added that the employees of ADCs who joined service after January 1, 2005 were not covered under the new pension scheme.
However, after repeated requests from the association, the files were approved by the Finance Department and now awaits approval by the Cabinet.
