Imphal, April 06 2012:
People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) has refuted the claim made by Assam Police that underground outfits of Manipur have links with local goons of Guwahati.
A statement issued by its publicity and propaganda assistant secretary Leibak Ngakpa Luwang said that Assam Police publicity and propaganda assistant secretary Leibak Ngakpa Luwang said that Assam Police tried to mislead the people of Assam by levelling false charge of involvement in vehicle lifting, stealing people's properties, drug peddling and arms supply in connivance with local criminals in Guwahati.
The said allegation was published in the North East edition of The Times of India in its April 4 issue, the press statement said.
The allegation was an effort to spew venom of hatred amongst the harmonious people of the North East who have been fighting against the Government of India, the statement said.
Clarifying that PREPAK has never established its base in Assam, the statement claimed that the allegation of Assam Police was baseless and unfounded.
The outfit also made it clear that PREPAK has been trying not to indulge in any activity, which is anti-people and against the will of the people.
Maintaining that the outfit has firm belief that independence of Manipur would be retained only through collective revolution of the people, the statement said, it has been an ideology of the outfit not to go against the will of people for money.
The outfit has been fighting against the Government of India with the empathetic donations contributed by the people, it added.
The allegation was a conspiracy to tarnish the image of the age-old revolutionary movement against the Government of India.
The statement also urged the general public to remain alert against such false propaganda.
