MSME Ministry okays Rs 1423 lakh

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has approved Rs 1423.95 lakh for implementation of three cluster projects in the State.
The 50th steering committee meeting of the Micro and Small Enterprises Cluster Development Programme was held at New Delhi with Ministry of MSME Secretary Dr Arun Kumar in the chair on July 2 .
Commerce and Industries Director C Arthur and MSME OSD G Kamei represented the State at the meeting.
The meeting approved Rs 656.75 lakh for Spice and Food Processing Cluster, Churachandpur, Rs 436.61 lakh for Wood Carpentry Cluster, Churachandpur and Rs 330.59 lakh for Greater Imphal Jewellery Cluster, Imphal East, informed a source.
Necessary training and trade machinery would be provided to the three clusters which have been approved by the Ministry for the first time.
The three projects would be implemented by the Guwahati based Indian Institute of Entrepreneurs and it would enhance income of micro entrepreneurs as well their resources, infrastructure and machinery, said the source.
