Imphal, August 24:
The Action Committee of the Striking Manipur University Teachers Association (MUTA) has decided to resume classes.
The decision was taken in a meeting today in view of the inquiry into the affairs of the MU.
A general body meeting of the MUTA will discuss the decision and future course of action.
The Action Committee hailed the constitution of an inquiry committee and demanded creation of appropriate conditions for a free and fair enquiry.
Demanding either the resignation or the sacking of the present Vice Chancellor Prof.H Tombi on the charge of his inefficiency and ineffectiveness in the administration and management of the university, it has expressed the hope that the dispassionate findings of an unfettered and unbiased probe and consequent necessary actions would bring a clean and efficient administrative and academic leadership in the progress and development of the university.
Meanwhile the VC Prof.H Tombi reportedly met the Governor Ved Marwah.
