Imphal, October 15 2011:
A strong suspicion has been raised whether some candidates who were not eligible for Paper II of the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) conducted recently were allowed to appear in the test.
As per the results declared on September 27, 7107 candidates cleared the Paper II test out of 15680 candidates who appeared for the same paper.
The eligibility criteria for the Paper II test was 50 per cent marks in Graduation for general candidates and 45 per cent marks in Graduates belonging to OBC, ST and SC categories.
Now the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) which conducted the test is preparing to give certificates to the successful candidate at Raja Dumbra High School.

BSEM has asked the candidates to produce their original (Graduate) certificates and BSEM officials have kept apart all suspicious or inauthentic certificates.
A top-ranking official of BSEM said that there was no mistake on the part of the Board.
Nevertheless, the Board has been closely examining all the documents submitted by the candidates to check if there are any inauthentic or forged documents, said the official.
