Innovative science models of the participating students that give new insights not only to their peers but also to adults have been drawing visitors to the ongoing Science exhibition at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Sanglen.
The exhibition which began on May 11 is being organised by Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC) under the theme of 'Expanding Horizon of Science'.
Students from various schools are participating in the exhibition which would conclude tomorrow.

In all 85 science models relating to a wide ranging field of knowledge including Swine flu, Solar energy & cooker, Integrated Pest Management, etc are being put up for display at the exhibition apart from participation by two IT firms.
Science quiz competition, spot painting competition and declamation contest are the added attractions of the exhibition which is being visited by hordes people young and old alike every day.
Students of Heritage Convent School have put up a science model on Integrated Pest Management shedding new light on productive farming activities sans chemical fertiliser.
In connection with the model, K Vidyananda, a student of class VII of the school, explained that giving up dependence on chemical fertiliser to control pest is the need of the hour.
Adoption of this technique of Integrated Pest Management would not only help in curbing use of harmful chemical as insecticide but also lead to increase in production.
Executive Director of MASTEC Th Surendranath informed that students selected from this exhibition would be taken for a science excursion to Kolkata where they would be given exposure at various Scientific Research Institutes of the city.
The main objective of organising the exhibition is to promote scientific knowledge and scientific temper among the students, he said, while stressing on the need to set up science cities in Manipur as well.
