The State Assembly Speaker Dr S Dhananjoy has insisted Governor Marwah to bring those stranded Manipuris to Imphal with the provision of a foolproof security measure.
During his meeting with the Governor this morning, the Speaker informed him that these few people have not been able to reach Imphal as some Naga organizations have been staging road blockade along the two National Highways, NH 39 and 53 since July 28.He highlighted the plight of those stranded people who could not reach Imphal due to the blockade during their discussion.
In case of his inability to arrange an adequate security measure, the Speaker pleaded him to set up temporary relief camps for the stranded Manipuris.
Demanding the unconditional release of the AMSU leaders and others who are now being detained in the jail, the Speaker urged the Governor to monitor the activities of the United Committee, Manipur (UCM).
The Speaker whose residential quarter was razed to the ground during the June 18 Imphal uprising against the ceasefire extension also drew the Governor's attention to his residential problem.
He requested the Governor to arrange his residential quarter with adequate security protection.
He also drew the attention of the Governor to the problems of those MLAs whose residential quarters were also burnt down by the mob of June 18 incident.

The Governor after giving a patient hearing to the problems of the Speaker asked him to look for a suitable place which the Government can provide him.
He also agreed to look for a secure place for the Speaker.
Several State bound passengers proceeded by boats on the Barak river to the Churachandpur district side today.
The passengers were earlier transported to the Tipaimukh road side by buses.
Around 30 persons left the relief camp at Jiribam to proceed by the water route yesterday.
Another 110 persons left on the same route today.
With their departure, around 150 persons are left at the Jiribam relief camp.
