The Kuki Students Organization (KSO), Sadar Hills has welcomed the decision of Central government to withdraw the NSCN (IM) from taking effect in the territories of Manipur state.
The student organization, at a public meeting organized at Kangpokpi today, also passed a resolution urging the state government to release those arrested during the anti-ceasefire extension movement in the state without any condition.
The public meeting, attended by Chungpam Haokip, president of the Kuki Inpi, Paokam Haokip, president of the KSO, general headquarters, Heeval Kipgen, general secretary of the Kuki Women�s Union, Manipur among others including many AMSU and UCM leaders, held discussions on the ceasefire withdrawal and its implications on the Kukis, the Sadar Hills district demand issue, �Kuki nation in 2001� and �Integrity of Manipur and the Kukis�.
Heeva Kipgen presented a report on recent meetings of a team of KIM, KSO and KWU led by her with the Prime Minister and other central leaders in Delhi seeking withdrawal of the ceasefire extension.
AMSU leaders Ng Nongyai and P Premananda, and AMKIL leader S Sorojini were among those who addressed the gathering.
