Police contended that investigation into the alleged rape of a minor girl at Langol Games Village by one N Vishnu (25) of Uripok Khumanthem Leikai is almost complete.
Charge sheet has been submitted after receiving examination reports of the Forensic Science Laboratory, a report placed by the Imphal West SP before the Manipur Human Rights Commission said.
The police action is in compliance with the earlier proceedings of the rights panel on September 13 asking the police official to furnish progress report of the probe into the case.
The accused Vishnu raped the 13 year old girl on at Langol Housing Complex on September 6 before he was picked up four days later and confined to judicial custody.
Lamphel police station had registered an FIR against the accused U/S 376 IPC.
During tactful interrogation, the accused, said to be a married man, disclosed that he had been making advances to the victim since July month with malicious intent, said the police report.
The report further detailed of Vishnu finally able to satisfy his lust on September 9 after inside the video parlor owned by the culprit.
While disclosing of the accused having been subjected to medical examination with due consent of the Imphal CJM, the police report cited the victim girl endorsing the rape charge during police examination.
Medico-legal experts opined of the victim being about 14-15 year of age and could detect rupture of the victim�s hymen.
The confessional statement of the victim was recorded under due process of law and the statement also supported the fact of the case proof of which has also be strengthened following statements given by eight witnesses.
The police investigators could also trace and confiscate all relevant physical document including medical evidences of both the victim and the perpetrator.
