Missing girl found dead

Thoubal, December 27 2021:
Korimayum Nargish (20), daughter of K Ahmed Ali of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai, who had been reported missing since December 22, was found dead, tied to a tree with a cloth on the river bank near a bridge connecting Lilong and Samurou on Monday.
It is said that the missing girl was last seen going out from home in a CCTV footage on December 22 around 8.26 pm.
The family members waited till the next day thinking she might have been eloped.
However, with no information of elopement coming, a missing report was filed at Lilong police station.
Unfortunately, her lifeless body was found near a river bank by some people around 8am on Monday and immediately informed Lilong police station.
A team of Forensic science inspected the spot and the lifeless body was later taken to JNIMS morgue.
The deceased Nargish was a student of Lilong Haoreibi College and she was waiting for the result of BA 6th semester exam.
Meanwhile, a public meeting was convened at the Idqah ground of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai and adopted several resolutions including forming of a JAC against the Brutal Killing of Korimayum Nargish (20) .
The JAC while condemning the brutal killing demanded arrest of all the culprits involved within 48 hours.
Local clubs and organisations along with CSOs and Meira Paibi will launch intense agitation if authorities fail to trace and penalise the culprit(s).
The meeting also resolved not to claim the body until the culprit(s) were identified and demanded video coverage of the entire post mortem examination of the body.
