Training programme on pig rearing concludes

A 3-day training programme on scientific rearing of pigs, extension and training programme under National Livestock Mission (NLM) organised by Sub-Divisional Veterinary Hospital, Kangpokpi concluded at Tumnoupokpi village in Kangpokpi district on Monday.
During the training programme, three resource persons namely Pony farm, Tinkhai Khunou project officer Dr Ch Esau Mao, veterinary officers, Kangpokpi Dr M Pule Addison and Dr Deepa Devi talked on various topics like different breeds of pigs and their characteristics; selection of farm sites, housing systems and economic housing with locally available materials; breeds of choice for piggery development in Manipur; economic feeding with non-conventional feed and green fodder and diseases pertaining to reproduction, piglet anaemia and its treatment; different common viral diseases and their treatment, different common bacterial diseases and their treatment, etc.
Around 80 farmers, who attended the training programme, were awarded certih cates during the valedictory function.
