AR pays tribute, conducts coaching class

Assam Rifles organised a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the battalion headquarters on December 7 to commemorate the 22nd death anniversary of rifleman (late) Rakesh Singh, who laid down his life in the line of duty on December 7, 2001, in Manipur.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the ceremony, attended by military' personnel and dignitaries, aims to commemorate The indomitable spirit of rifleman Rakesh Singh, acknowledging his sacrifice in the line of duty.
On the other-hand, a three-week Coaching Classes and Training Capsule organised by Assam Rifles of Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) began at Sendra, Bishnupur district on Saturday.
According to the PRO, the coaching class and training capsule for recruitment rallies attended by youths from villages of Kumbi, Kwakta, Terakhongsanbi, Thamnapokpi, Moirang and Bishnupur is aimed at providing the youths with basic understanding about competitive examinations and also to impart physical training to the aspirants.
They were also taught about the process of recruitment, various activities involved and their queries solved regarding the procedure, if added.
