Dr Jamini to be conferred Award

The Kshetrimayum Yaima & Thambal Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award 2024 will be presented to renowned writer Dr Chongtham Jamini Devi in recognition of her contribution in the field of literature, community welfare, art & culture.
The biannual award given by Kshetrimayum Yaima Trust, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai, Imphal carries a cash prize of Rs 20,000, citation, memento and a shawl, said a release issued by Kshetrimayum Yaima Trust.
The award will be presented during the 118th birth anniversary observation of Kshetrimayum Yaima scheduled to be held on January 14, 2024 .
Dr Jamini is the daughter of Chongtham Benudhar Singh and Rajkumari Sanatombi Devi from Keishamthong Top Leirak.
She is the founder of the Divya Jyoti Ashram (under Dr Jamini Welfare Trust) located at Changangei Uchekon, Imphal.
She is also a life member of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Imphal, Writers Forum Imphal, Leikol and Cultural Forum Manipur.
Dr Jamini has also written around 40 books on varied topics including Khomjinba Wareng (1973), Physical Education for Women (1975), Ei Amasung Samajgi Yaiphaba (1978), Nupigi Yakairol (1997), Angangi Leikol 1983, Sargagi Leibaktuda (1994), Combing Operation (1996), Korouhanbana Ironnungdagi Khongdoirakpa Lamdamduda (1998), Loinaidraba Waree (1999), Kohinurgi Masaikonda (2000) and America gi Khongchat (2001) .
