Finer points of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra extolled

Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, an outreach programme of 23 government departments towards people living below the poverty line, was launched for the state at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) auditorium, Utlou on Saturday.
The launch programme was attended by education minister Th Basantakumar, former Union minister & Padma Shri Th Chaoba Singh, chief secretary Dr Vineet Joshi, additional chief secretary MH Khan, commissioner (Agriculture) RK Dinesh, commissioner (CAF&PD) Bobby Waikhom and senior officials of the government of Manipur.
Delivering the keynote address of the event, RK Dinesh explained that Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was launched by the Union government to ensure that the benefits of various schemes initiated up by the government reach the people.
He informed that the Yatra will be held in each district for three days starting from Bishnupur and culminating in Jiribam in valley districts after which the campaign will be held in hill districts.
During these three days, Information, Education & Communication (IEC) Van will visit every nook and comer of the villages to spread awareness of the various schemes taken up by the government, he added.
As part of the programme, video clippings related to implementation of various schemes by different departments were shown.
The departments include MAHUD on PMAY(U), SBM, NULM; Health on Ayushman Bharat; PHED on Jal Jeevan Mission, MNREGA, PMAY (R); CAF&PD on Ujjwala Mission and Agriculture on PM KISAN, SMAM, PMKSY & RKVY.
Later, the beneficiaries interacted with Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conference.
A health camp was also organised at Kha Sanjenbam as part of the launch event.
After hearing various reports from the officials, chief secretary Dr Vineet Joshi directed officials concerned to complete implementation of pending schemes by March 2024 and to take up new schemes at the earliest.
Later, the education minister led the gathering in taking Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat' pledge.
The dignitaries also flagged off an IEC van.
It may be mentioned that Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was introduced by the Government of India on November 15, 2023 on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, with the aim to launch a nationwide campaign for raising awareness through outreach activities to achieve saturation of schemes.
The main objectives of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra are to reach out to the vulnerable sections of the society who are eligible to enjoy the benefits under various schemes but have not availed the benefit so far, dissemination of information and generating awareness about various schemes, interaction with beneficiaries and enrolment of potential beneficiaries through detail ascertained during the yatra.
It entails concerted effort across the board as well as active participation of people (Jan Bhagidari) to ensure that the last mile and the most vulnerable are reached effectively.
