The more than Rs 210 crore recovered in Income Tax Department's raids from Congress MP Dhiraj Sahu was black money which was supposed to be used in the Lok Sabha elections, alleged Manipur State BJP general secretary K Saratkumar.
He made the charge after reports of the Income Tax Department conducting raids on multiple locations in Odisha and Jharkhand linked to Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dhiraj Sahu emerged.
The raids have resulted in the discovery of more than Rs 210 crore in cash.
Speaking to reporters at BJP office at Nityaipat Chuthek, K Saratkumar said the Income Tax Department is continuing the raid on several locations and firms linked with the Rajya Sabha MP of the Congress.
Saratkumar said Dhiraj Sahu is very close to Congress leaders and the Congress needs the money from him.
"Dhiraj Sahu is the ATM of Congress," Saratkumar said.
The raids have exposed deep rooted corruption, he said, adding that the "INC" is better known to people as "I Need Corruption" .
Saratkumar further stated that Dhiraj Sahu was a person who took a key role in organising Rahul Gandhi's "Bharat Jodo Yatra" and he participated in the rally from the beginning till the end.
