Imphal, August 29 2022:
United People's Front (UPF) Manipur celebrated its 24th foundation day under the theme 'Ways to achieve a vibrant life for Manipuri society' at Yaibilen Children Home, Keibi Sanapat, Imphal East on Sunday.
UPF president N Rupachandra, sericulture director L Jetchandra, Manipur University Adult Continuing Education HOD in-charge Dr Ch Sonia, Uyumpok GP pradhan Th Inaocha and social worker Y Tomba attended the programme as the presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Rupachandra observed that shouting slogans in the valley alone is not enough for protecting the state, its boundary, integrity and unity.
CSOs need to bring understanding with the hill people by visiting there and joining hands with them.
Conserving culture, tradition and behaviour is also crucial for bringing unity, he added.
Dr Ch Sonia said that education is important for bringing development in a society.
It is better to use what one has learnt to bring social changes instead of just posing as an educated person.
She also stressed the importance of studying early crafts and promoting work culture among the people.
