AR conducts security meet, medical camp

Imphal, October 15 2021:
Chassad Battalion of IGAR (S) conducted security meets at Phaikoh and Kamtong villages in Kamjong district on Thursday and Friday.
The security meets were attended by village headmen, village authorities and residents of Phaikoh; Humeine Thana, Kangpat Centre, Kangpat Khunou, Kangpat Khullen and Skipe villages, said a release issued by PRO IGAR (S).
During the meet the locals were sensitised and updated on prevalent security situation and measures being taken by the Assam Rifles in maintaining peace and tranquility in the area.
Measures required to be undertaken by locals in synergy with Assam Rifles for maintaining a strict vigil against illegal activities in the area; particularly extortion and smuggling were also discussed, the PRO said adding that the locals expressed gratitude and appreciation for conducting security meet by Assam Rifles and assured of their commitment and assistance towards ensuring peace in the area.
On the other-hand, Loktak Battalion of IGAR (S) organised a medical camp at Ithing village in Bishnupur district on Friday.
In another release, the PRO IGAR (S) informed that the medical camp was organised to extend basic medical facilities as well as create awareness on personal and oral hygiene, sanitation and vaccination amid Covid-19 pandemic among the deprived local populace residing in interior villages.
A lecture on lifestyle diseases was also organised to raise awareness on various types of lifestyle diseases as well as their preventive and remedial measures.
More than 50 patients were examined by the medical team of Assam Rifles.
The event culminated with distribution of generic medicines to the locals, it added.
