Sana Konung performs 'Kwak Tanba' ritual

Imphal, October 15 2021:
Led by titular king of Manipur and Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba, Sana Konung performed the annual ritual of 'Mera Kwak Tanba' on Friday.
'Maichou Purel' of the royal palace performed the ritual in the presence of Lanjing Purel Hanjaba, Angom Ningthou and other key functionaries of the royal council.
Rituals like Amaibi Thougal Jagoi, Pana Mari Khousaba, Mityengfu Latpa by the titular king were also performed as part of the main ritual followed by forecasting for the coming year by the religious scholars.
According to Maichou Purel professor Ng Kangjia Mangang, Kwak Tanba is an annual ritual of Sana Konung and as per belief the ritual helps in herding off bad influences and evil forces for a peaceful year ahead.
On the other hand, Manipur Cheirap Loishang, Garot Loishang, Manipur Pandit Loishang and Brahmasabha Loishang also performed the ritual on the northern side of Shri Shri Govindajee Temple.
