Imphal, October 15 2021:
Clarifying on the reports of resignation of its members published in local dailies on Thursday, the Naga People's Front (NPF) 43-Phungyar Area Unit has stated that these members who claimed to have tendered resignation had also resigned in the run-up to the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election in 2017 when the party did not allot the ticket to a person they endorsed.
In a release, NPF 43-Phungyar Area Unit president Wungpam Mahongnao stated that they were made to remain for the tenure 2020-24 in the hope that they will uphold party's principle and ideology, but they failed to co-operate and were inactive in the party activities for the last four months.
They were busy indulging in anti-party activities for their selfish motives and persisted with deceptive policies to sabotage the party.
The party is not astounded by their resignation and it will not in any way give any negative impact, but their exit will rather strengthen the party, it claimed.
NPF also clarified that the report mentioning name of NPF 43-Phungyar Area Unit Farmer's Wing president Rockson Kashung amongst the 12 who have resigned which is totally baseless.
Rockson Kashung on no account has tendered his resignation and also there is no such person named SP Matuimi amongst the NPF 43-Phungyar Area Unit executive members as reported, it added.
NPF further cautioned that it will not hesitate from initiating disciplinary actions against members who indulge in any anti-party activities.
