Tamenglong, October 15 2021:
As part of the statewide 'BJP Thambal' campaign, election campaign for the upcoming Manipur legislative assembly election under 52-Tamei AC for BJP intending candidate Z Kikhonbou was kicked off at BJP election office, Tamenglong district HQs.
The event was organised by BJP Tamei Mandal during which reception of new members of BJP from NPF and other political parties was also held.
The official flag for candidate Kikhonbou was also hoisted as part of the campaign programme.
Kikhonbou, while addressing the gathering, stressed on his various aims and plans of his manifesto if voted to power.
He said he would bring back the Tousem BDO/SDO office to Tousem HQ which is now functioning at Tamenglong District HQ.
He also promised that the Kaiphundai- Tousem HQ and Tamenglong-Tousem HQ roads would be upgraded to an all-weather road.
"If delimitation happens in this coming term I will try to create separate constituency for Tousem AC and will tour Tamei and Tousem sub-division every year," he vowed.
The Tamei intending candidate from BJP party expressed his regret for the last term as he was not allowed to roam in his own constituency due to a warning from some section of an organisation.
He then urged the voters of Tamei AC to give him one more chance in the upcoming election.
D Stephen, the former PRO of forest minister Awangbow Newmai and an intending ADC candidate from Magulong segment, also spoke at the event.
He said the reason he joined BJP from being an ardent NPF worker is that NPF party does not keep what they promised.
They failed on Article 371C, Hill Areas Committee (HAC) and NPF used anti-social elements to win election and deprived the innocent their voting right, he alleged.
BJP Tamei Mandal president Humaliabou, former ADC member of Oinamlong segment Tadinang Gangmei, ADC intending candidate Apollo T Panmei, BJP Tamei Mandal general secretary, Humaliabou and BJP leaders from Tamei, Tousem, Saramba and Oinamlong segments also attended the event.
