Through the scheme, people will be able to get health screening facilities for select non communicable diseases at their residences and will be provided medicines accordingly free of cost.

The ASHAs will have a pivotal role in realising the goal of the scheme as they will assist in assessing health issues of residents under their jurisdiction and in rendering proper treatment, he said.
Dwelling on the importance of early diagnosis and treatment to avert major health issues likely to be developed if left unattended, the State Mission Director for NHM also called upon all to act responsibly and carry out unavoidable moral obligations towards making a healthy society.
