Imphal, June 28:
The UNC sponsored meeting of Naga leaders convened in the wake of the developments after the cease fire extension to Manipur got underway at Senapati today.
The meeting was earlier scheduled to be held at the Mao Church in Senapati headquarters but had to be shifted at the last minute to the Paomai Baptist Church as the turn out was larger than expected.
The meeting presided by UNC president Paul Leo started from 11 am and went on till late into the night.
Representatives from Nagaland and Naga leaders of Manipur attend the meeting.
Outsiders were debarred from attending the meeting and even press men who had gone to cover the meeting were not allowed to go inside the meeting venue.
The press men were stopped by volunteers a few meters away from the Church.
Civil and police officials including the DC and SP of the district were also not allowed inside the meeting venue.
Some Naga representatives who attended the meeting told the visiting press men outside the Church that the meeting may take some time to arrive at any unanimous proposal as different opinions were voiced by the participants.
They said the meeting discussed in detail the recent developments following the decision of the Centre to extend the cease fire between the NSCN (IM) and the GOI to Manipur.
The developments likely to result later were also discussed, they added.
