Imphal, June 28:
Manipur Students Federation (MSF) today threatened not to allow four political parties to continue their activities in the state if they failed to state by June 30 whether they will be able to revoke the extension of ceasefire.
MSF president Pheiroijam Nando Luwang in a statement asked the BJP, Samata Party, Manipur State Congress Party, all NDA partners, to reply by June 30 whether they will be able to revoke the cease fire extension to Manipur.
If the parties wanted to continue political activities in the state, they must abide by this, MSF said.
The MSF alleged party MLAs who are now in the New Delhi, had failed to reached a joint decision in the interests of general people in Manipur even at this crucial juncture and were inactive.
Luwang said the formation of Committee for Restoration of Normalcy in Imphal west and east districts by the government under the leadership of Governor Ved Marwah had misinterpreted the nature of agitation on ceasefire issue.
The MSF also asked non-government officials in the CRN to resign from the committee which was against the interest of the people.
Luwang said the anti-cease fire extension agitation was being held in the entire state and not only in Imphal East and West districts.
The MSF leader appealed to all communities to live harmoniously and alleged the Governors recent statement regarding the anti-ceasefire agitation in the state had encouraged ethnic tension.
The agitation was a peoples movement for revoking of extension of ceasefire to Manipur, the President of MSF, which recently locked offices of the Congress, MPP, BJP and Samata Party, said.
The offices of Congress and MPP were razed to ground while the office of BJP destroyed during the agitation on June 18.
