Inspector General of Border Security Force (BSF), P J Sebastian today opened a computer centre and a women welfare centre constructed by the 88 Bn BSF under its Civic Action Programme at Laikoiching of Senapati district.
The BSF is installing four computers at the computer centre and eight tailoring machines including four embroidery machines at the women welfare centre.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the two centres, IGP, P J Sebastian emphasized the need of prevalent of peaceful atmosphere for development.
Development should be come up after the peace is there in the region.
He also urged the people of the state to extend co-operation to the security forces in effort to bring peace in the region stating that BSF will leave no stone unturned in bringing peace in the region, he said.
He also observed that for the development to bring about, it is also necessary to educate people.
In the present trend of information worlds, everybody needs to know computer application.
With this determination, the computer centre is being opened, he said.
The women welfare centre which will provide tailoring and embroidery facilities to the women section of the society will also help in generation of self employment to the unemployed youths of the state, he said.
DIG (CI Ops) AK Sharma and commandant of the 88 Bn BSF, Sham Kapoor also attended the function.
