Goc 57 Mtn Divn, Maj Gen DS Hooda has gifted computers and accessories and a xerox machine to the Handicapped Development Foundation (HDF) at a simple ceremony held at the HQs of the Division today.
Three computer sets, one printer and one xerox machine sponsored by the 57 Mtn Divn were handed over to the representatives of the Foundation to augment the resources of the Integrated Computer Centre run by the Foundation to train the differently abled population of the society.
Meanwhile, a press release of the PIB (DW) stated that the HDF is a non profit making trust established in 1999 and registered under Indian Trust Act 1982 and located in Sagolband, Tera Pukhri.
The mission of the Foundation is to stimulate and support the creative and latent potential of differently abled people of the society with a view to bring a positive change and improvement in their lives, thereby enabling them to live with dignity and prosperity.
Towards this end the foundation conducts various awareness programmes and training capsules for the differently abled population of the state, one of which is computer training capsule which is conducted in computer training centre located at its office premises.
The GOC appreciated the efforts of the Foundation in providing vocational training and spreading awareness amongst the differently abled people of the society with a view to bring them into the mainstream of the society.
He exhorted upon the members of the Foundation to keep up their good work.
Jasowanta, Secretary Genral of the HDF accompanied by other office bearers of the foundation received the computers and the peripherals from the GOC, 57 Mtn Divn.
