The State Cabinet met today evening and discussed the details of the border dispute between Manipur and Myanmar.
A reliable source informed The Sangai Express that the matter was brought up for discussion following strict instructions from the Centre to resolve the border dispute between the State and Myanmar.
The source said .that as per a proposal worked out between the Centre and the Govt of Myanmar, some portion of Choro Khunou village measuring 3.7 sq kms in Ukhrul district is to be given away to Myanmar in exchange of the same area from Myanmar at Moreh.
A Cabinet sub-committee headed by Commerce and Industries Minister Th Debendra was formed earlier to survey the said areas, said the source.
Today's meeting discussed at length the proposal put forward by the Centre, said the source adding that the matter was discussed following repeated reminders from the Centre to take a decision on the matter.
