Imphal, August 19:
State CPI unit leader and Dr M Nara has cautioned the UPA Govt at the Centre against imposition of President's Rule in Manipur and said that such a step would infuriated the people of the strife-torn State all the more and lost their faith on democracy.
Dr Nara stated these while replying to a question during an interview with NDTV this morning.
When Dr Nara was asked for his suggestion for bringing normalcy in Manipur, he promptly said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should pay a visit to the State immediately and held talks with the agitating people.
Even if the Prime Minister could not pay the visit, he should send Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil for the same purpose, Dr Nara added.
Dr Nara who is presently at the National capital met with CPI National general secretary AB Bhardhan earlier during the day and discussed the present Manipur situation in details, State Unit party secretary B Sharma informed in statement.
