Imphal, June 15:
Expressing strong opposition against the decision of the Centre to extend the ceasefire between the Government of India and NSCN (IM) to Manipur territory, activists of the Manipur Students Federation (MSF) this evening locked up several offices of political parties located in the city.
Addressing an impromptu press conference, MSF president Nando Luwang said that the MSF members locked up the offices of political parties as the political leaders were working for their own selfish gains and not in the interest of the State.
He said the office of the Congress (I), BJP, Samata Party and MPP were locked up by the MSF members.
Nando further said they would lock up the offices of the other political parties.
Issuing a stern warning against any attempt to break or open the locked offices, Nando said if the offices are opened forcibly it would be constructed as breaking the territorial integrity of the State.
Even though there was the looming danger of ceasefire being extended to the State, the political leaders instead of putting up a united front were busy targeting each other for ministerial chairs, he said.
The BJP and Samata Party members are particularly guilty on this point, he added.
If the territorial boundary of the State is disturbed under any circumstances then the BJP and the Samata should bear the responsibility, said the student leader.
