CCpur, July 13 2017:
With Chief Minister N Biren Singh contemplating the unusual move of conducting the State's Cabinet meeting outside Imphal, Churachandpur his first choice for such a meeting – is perfecting its preparations to host the historic event .
The Chief Minister, his Cabinet and their entourage's itinerary, officially, was to conduct the meeting at District Training Centre Hall and settle with a luncheon after meeting a few public leaders.
However, preparations observed on the ground relate it may not be as smooth and as minimal .
At least half a dozen philanthropic organisations that have been enjoying considerable influence on public life in the district have jointly geared-up to receive the Ministers at the frontier village of Kangvai .
The reception programme there and its subsequent motor parade designed by these organisations till the meeting venue are likely to be an eye catching affair .
Officials and the event planners are so far tight-lipped about the details, so was the Autonomous District Council Churachandpur, which has set in motion a separate reception programme at their premises .
ADC Chairman Khaipao Haokip today said that the Chief Minister will be visiting the ADC campus but refused to divulge further details on what he will be doing or how he will be greeted by the council, saying it will be a surprise for everyone.
Nevertheless banners and posters have been erected at the main entrance of the complex .
Deputy Commissioner Shyam Lal Poonia said the district administration has been gearing up to put forward the shortage of manpower and status of public infrastructure before the Cabinet.
He has personally supervised the preparations to ensure that the Chief Minister and his entire Cabinet receive a decent hospitality.
In the run-up to their preparation, the district administration has asked status report for projects taken up in the district by several departments.
It has also sought the status of staff from all branches of the Government, a job considered to be gruelling for many DLOs.
